A note on Jane Hallander and Jing

Jane Hallander passed away in February 2002. Jane was a Tai Chi instructor, writer, and animal communicator who worked with her friend Jing, an African gray parrot. Together, Jane and Jing sometimes enlisted the crows and ravens to help find lost animals. Jane and Jing contributed an entire chapter to Animal Voices. They were one of my first interviews and both were very patient in helping me to understand how animal communication really works. As Jane said, "Jing often helps me with animal communication consultations, but her real expertise is teaching people to talk to their animals and animals to better relate to their humans."
